It's a work in progress, but I'm hoping that you all are enjoying the new "scenery"--thanks to shabbyblog.com I'm searching for the perfect accents to make the Redgate blog fit our personality in this season of life:) It's been fun, but I've realized that I could flip thru "backgrounds and extras" all day, while other items remain a priority, so it may not be perfectly us just yet, but it's still more fun in the meantime!

We wanted to share some new pictures of our sweet little Trey as he approaches his 1st birthday!! Here's just a little pre-work playtime with Big Boy and his Daddy. Haha, I already look at pictures and think that Trey needs his first hair cut, since it doesn't like to stay swept to the side. He likes the shaggy look and Mom just can't bring herself to snip off any of his "beautimous flowing locks" (as we like to call them) :)

House Update! I'm trying to refrain from going daily because it's a bit of a trek and at this point since it's mostly the one-day bigger projects going in, we see more progress going over every couple of days. The pictures speak for themselves but you'll see that we now have a driveway, sidewalk, patio (which because of a mistake on their part in the living room we got to expand for free--yay!), kitchen and bath cabinets, vinyl flooring in laundry/pantry and bathrooms, antique bisque with white trim on walls, finished fireplace, and gutters. Piece by piece we thank the Lord for what He's blessing us with!

Here is Trey performing his newest trick (which he started on his own the other day)--he'll crouch down--sometimes with nothing in front of him--he wants you to play along and say, "Where's Trey?", then he'll spring up with a smile, so then you can joyfully respond, "There he is!!!" He loves it and so do we!

I love our garage door--makes me think of stable doors with the cute handles.

Hello, everyone!!! Welcome back:) I'm such a big man!

Just a quick close up of the stone columns:)

Siding!!! And columns (minus the tops)--so cool!!!
I have to take a minute and thank the Lord for how he's blessing us with this home, because I was driving back from seeing the updates and it hit me that even if we moved in like it is now, we'd have more shelter and more of a house then most people in this world. We'll certainly not take this enormous blessing for granted.

Making progress! This is taken from the kitchen looking into the dining room/living room space. So looking forward to our fireplace!

As we're strolling along on one of the backstreets in Reidsville, we come upon this gem of a location--these rusty doors were perfect for a day trip photoshoot! We called it our Adam Barnes door and had to take advantage:)
The Big Man living the life...kicked back, strolling around town...

On one of our "off" weekends of no travel (aahhh) we decided to explore the little town of Reidsville. Here we are enjoying our cold treat on a very hot day at Mr. Kone's Ice Cream. In Reidsville, their slogan is "Live Simply. Think Big." Well, they're certainly living simply up there. As we walked thru the streets of downtown we tried to imagine what it must have been like during it's hay-day. All the shops seem to be frozen in that 60-70's time period. I hope they can persevere through their revitalization process. It will be a very cute little town when they do.

Mr. Cool just hanging out in the backyard--checking things out. We love going over to the house as a family on the weekends to dream and guess what they'll be working on next!

Now we're starting to actually look like a house:)

We went back and they'd finished the downstairs...
Then we had a second floor...

And, Voila! We have a house! All within a matters of days!
He looks so funny in my sunglasses and for some reason every time he puts them on he cracks up!
Trey loves going to see the new house. On our last trip there, he let me know that he was definitely not ready to leave:)

Project Manager Shaun scoping out the craftsmanship.
